The key enterprise within Rosgeo specializing in marine work is Sevmorgeo, the leading investigator of shallow water areas in Russia. This organisation participates in large-scale Russian and international projects, including the following: The federal programme for determining the outer limits of the Russian continental shelf in the Arctic Ocean, ü The all-Russian programme “Mineral Resources of the World Ocean, the Arctic, and the Antarctic”, The programme for investigating the country’s deep structure using the regional geotraverse system, Arctic clean-up programme.
Rosgeo is one of the leaders in performing hydrogeological surveys in Russia. The holding’s enterprises have explored tens of thousands of underwater deposits stretching across the territory from the Caucasus to the Kamchatka Peninsula. Over 1 000 deposits of fresh and mineral underwater have been explored by Centregeologiya.
There are 15 enterprises within Rosgeo, including Geocentre-Moskva and Volgageology, that conduct geological exploration for water. Volgageology houses the Innovation Geological Centre that develops state-of-the-art techniques in the sphere of well construction and development.
Subsoil Monitoring and Geotechnical Engineering
Rosgeo performs the state monitoring of geological environment and carries out geo-ecological research.
Organisations within the holding company have a strong background in geotechnical engineering, including geological investigations for the purpose of establishing new routes of the Moscow Metro, comprehensive geological and geophysical research on the deep structure of the BAM (the Baikal-Amur Mainline), geotechnical investigations to build hydroelectric power stations, the Kshuk-Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky natural gas pipeline, and other facilities.
